SSS Week Nine: Biblical Facebook

Happy Short Story Sunday!

You may have noticed that I haven't been very good at keeping up with my blog lately. But, hey, don't feel too bad! I haven't updated my story on Wattpad for an equal amount of time, either, so I didn't just abandon you lot. Not that that helps... 

However, instead of dwelling on the past mistakes of the blogger, why not think of something a little more... modern. For example, the prompt for today's Short Story Sunday:

Rewrite a story using only Facebook notifications.

Now, this one was a tad bit difficult for me because I, myself, am not a Facebooker (or is the proper term Facebookee?). I used to be once upon a time ago, though. However, I can hardly remember what I had last night for dinner, much less once upon a time ago.

I had to look up the set up of how Facebook notifications flow and had to find a complete list of the options under 'feeling' in the template of a Facebook post, but other than that, things flowed rather smoothly.

I decided to write this using the story of Hosea and Gomer-- their life which was an illustration of God's love to the Jewish people, and how they continued to sin against him just as Gomer was an adulteress against her husband, Hosea. 

I changed the names-- making Hosea 'Henry Bennet' and Gomer 'Galina James'-- and made things a bit more modern, due to the fact that Facebook didn't exist in Biblical times, but other than that, I think it's pretty solid. There may be a few off things, however... The ending may be a bit cray-cray, but don't pay much mind to that.
