The Cat and the Teapot

Greetings my lovely readers!!

I've been hit, once again, by major writer's block.

To help my lacking-of-imagination, I typed "blog topic ideas for students" on the Google search bar. Fortunately for me, I found this awesome blog/website that gave me a few ideas.

An idea that really stuck out to me was called Word Smithery. The author of the blog post said to have your students go through magazines and books and find words that appeal to them, then have them copy them down, or cut them out, and draw them at random to use in poetry.

Instead of going through a book or magazine, I found this awesome random word generator online and found five random words that I'm going to use in a poem.

And the words are (drum roll please):
1. ginger
2. teapot
3. corpse
4. tongue
5. bribe

My poem turned out a little... well, peculiar. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

"The Cat and the Teapot":

Nothing is worse than terrible positions,
Of which I found myself in.
All because of the cat's condition,
The owner is blaming me for the sin.

"Ginger was a sweet pet,"
The sobbing owner replied,
"And now you killed her on purpose, I bet,
In your eyes, she was always disliked."

"It's not my fault your cat is dead,"
I said with a hint of sass.
"If I had killed it, I'd have cut off its head,
And would've dumped her in your grass."

"She drowned all because of you,
Her dead corpse used to be living.
Your teapot is what she fell into,
It was hot and had just finished boiling."

"What was your cat doing in my house?
I never said that it could come in."
I gasped slightly and straightened my blouse,
No wonder my tea tasted rotten.

"I'll bury your cat and buy you a new one,"
I said, hoping she'd take the bribe.
"Just keep an eye on it, cause I don't mind poison,
It's life will be gone in a blink of an eye."

They nodded and cried, "She was so young!"
I gave them the money and turned away.
I turned back around and stuck out my tongue,
I'm certainly not drinking tea again, no way!

DEDICATED TO MY MOM.
